Spirit of the Barrio

Since 1986, Family Health Centers of San Diego has hosted the "Spirit of the Barrio" luncheon to increase awareness about Family Health Centers of San Diego and its vital role in San Diego. In addition, the event raises critical funding for our programs and services by bringing together local businesses, individuals and community leaders for networking, education, entertainment and community building.

The luncheon is held from 12 noon to 1:00pm on the grounds of our first clinic, Logan Heights Family Health Center. 400-500 supporters, including prominent corporate, political, and community leaders, attend each event to enjoy our famous tamale lunch and listen to notable speakers.
