'Act of love' creates mural for new clinic

Calvin Rhodes is 12 and chatty, a product of Carmel Valley and parents with Ph.D.s in chemistry. Hefziba Diaz is 9, shy and soft-spoken. Home for her is Barrio Logan.
They have little in common but little itself, and yesterday that was enough.
Calvin, Hefziba and dozens of other children sat on folding chairs for a spell in Chicano Park yesterday, putting pigment on ceramic tiles for a community effort to paint something for the bare walls of a newly expanded clinic nearby.
