The Moore Family
Our son Tyrone Jr. is a healthy active 14-month-old thanks to the people of Family Health Centers of San Diego's clinic in Logan Heights. Without them I don't know what we would have done. They made sure I got the prenatal care I needed. I went to their classes on nutrition and breast feeding. My husband Tyrone and I took their classes on parenting. Everyone at the clinic is so caring and competent. They know our names and treat us with respect. Our family doesn't have a lot of money. We both have jobs but no health benefits. Deep down, I know we wouldn't have our good health without the staff at Family Health Centers of San Diego.

My daughter got sick and spent an entire month in the hospital. My daughter needed medical care and therapy after she was discharged from the hospital. Someone gave me the Logan Clinic number. The staff were so nice and wanted to see me even though I had no money. I had called other places who would not take me unless I had the money to pay for services. The therapist cared for me and my daughter and gave us both a chance. The clinic staff are very human people with a human touch. Since my daughter is developmentally disabled, she received referrals for other services she needed. Soon I will also get a specialized stroller. Life has been so much better since I found the Logan Clinic.

My wife and I had just moved to San Diego when we found out we were pregnant. I was referred to the Health Center, and at first, I was doubtful with it being a community clinic. I was concerned we wouldn't get good care. Everyone at the Health Center took a personal interest in our pregnancy. The prenatal counselor made sure we did everything we were supposed to. She even made appointments for us when we needed outside referrals. Everyone answered all of our questions and I felt like I could call anytime. The people were always nice and really helped us out. Everyone was really good to us. Our son was born at the end of June- a healthy, beautiful boy. We've already started his pediatric visits at the Health Center, and the pediatricians there have been great. My wife and I really appreciate the care we received from the clinic.

When I first came in my mouth was literally a mess. I was almost embarrassed to open it because of how badly I had damaged and neglected my teeth. I've had nothing less than excellent results with any procedure done by the staff. I've always felt comfortable knowing that if I have complications, I'm literally squeezed into a very tight schedule at the earliest availability. The staff have excellent teamwork skills, and are always very friendly and polite to everyone. I have honestly never felt so comfortable in any other medical environment. I am truly grateful.

I felt like an ugly duckling. I didn't have the money to get my teeth fixed. Without this program I would have died. I wouldn't have made it.
